Meet The Team

I would like to introduce you all to the fabulous creatives that make up our Gritty Girls DT Team. Check out their socials for more hints, tips and inspiration. 

 

Jane Royston

Hi, my name is Jane Royston and I live on the Isle of Wight with my husband and 3 children.  

I used to work as a primary school teacher until I had my youngest child and took the opportunity to stay at home.  

Although I have been crafting for many years, it is during this time that I have discovered mixed media and art journaling as well as all the lovely mediums, stencils etc that go with it!

A few years ago I decided to take the plunge and apply for a design team and have been lucky enough to take part in a number of them since.  

I am really pleased to be a part of the Pretty Gets Gritty team as I get to use so many fabulous, great quality products and work alongside a range of talented people.  

I look forward to sharing my projects with you all and also gaining inspiration from everyone else x

Meloney Lewis

DT Co-ordinator

Hi, my name is Mel and I live in Cornwall with 2 of my 3 children and my eldest doesn't live that far away and is now a mom to a beautiful little girl.

I was taught how to knit, cross stitch and tried to learn crocheting by my grandmother and my grandfather encouraged my drawing and colouring. Both of them have been a huge influence on my life.

We moved to Cornwall when I was 7 and my parents bought a small holding. So it was long hours and hard graft. That's where I got my determination, stubbornness and my work ethos from. 

My life changed completely when I had my youngest. She was a premmy, very small and it took every minute of everyday to help her progress. She is my little miracle.

Then another life changing event happened and I got very sick just as she was starting full time school. 3 years on I started getting a little better, found my love of creating again and found my love of mixed media and Lynette.

I applied for the DT in September of 2020 and I must be doing something right as I'm still here x

Karolina Osuchowska

Hi, my name is Karolina Osuchowska, and I live in West Yorkshire with my husband, son, dog and cat.  

I work in education, but I am a crazy crafter after work. 

I love listening to music, especially while creating something in my craft room. I love stamping and mixed media. I enjoy renovating furniture and sewing. I like to be open-minded and try to create projects in many styles and techniques.

I love Lynette's products and projects. The design team's projects are very inspirational as well. 

Dreams come true! I am pleased to start my new adventure with the Pretty Gets Gritty team.

Bea Elle Jones 

 

Hi, my name is Bea and I live on top of a large hill/mini-mountain in South Wales with my husband.  

I have been crafting for as long as I can remember (pencils, pens and paints were always on my childhood wishlist), and I studied both art and engineering graphics at college. My career choice was non-creative, so after raising my family, I decided to pick up my brushes and return to doing what I absolutely love.

Over the following couple of years I tried all kinds of crafts, media, tools and  techniques; marvelling in the range of new products available. Nothing was off-limits for my creativity and I was like a child in a sweet shop! As a result of this, I love all kinds of crafting (except sewing...I am dangerous with a sewing machine).

At the end of 2021, I decided to take the plunge and apply for a design team which built my confidence and encouraged me to share my work. The crafting and watercolour community have been very supportive and I am truly grateful to you all.

I am now absolutely thrilled to be a part of the dynamic and inspirational Pretty Gets Gritty team and cannot wait to get started. So let's get crafting, sharing and learning together. Now, where's my paintbrush..... Xxx
